2007 NAMM Summer Session - Austin, Texas

NAMM’S INTERNATIONAL FASTEST DRUMMER???

NAMM International continues its quest to find the Worlds Fastest Drummer ®. This highly charged Interactive Event is a feature at this year’s Summer NAMM Session in Austin, Texas, July 27- 29. The contest which consists of two categories, Battle of the Hands ™ and Battle of the Feet ™ will be held each day on The NAMM Fastest Drummer 4th Street Lobby Stage at the Austin Convention Center starting at 11:00am Friday, July 27th, with “heats” continuing through Saturday until 5.00pm. The top ten Fastest Hands and top ten Fastest Feet will compete in a ‘Finals Battle’ Sunday, July 29th.

Included in this year’s event will be technical demonstrations, insight sessions and appearances by WFD Champions and World Record Holders Johnny '3Bomb' Rabb (Deana Carter, Tanya Tucker, SheDaisy, Maynard Ferguson), Matt ‘The Kid’ Smith, and Mike ‘Machine’ Mallais. “To see these guys with World Records of 1200 strokes in a minute go at it, full throttle, smooth as silk is simply an amazing work of technical proficiency.” says Boo McAfee, co-founder of WFD Extreme Sport Drumming ®. Also appearing will be the ever lovely Miss WFD 2007, Christine Johnson.

      

NOTE that WFD Champions are NOT competing in the contest and are ineligible for prizes.

World Fastest Drummer Organization, along with the fine folks at NAMM International launched a Fastest Drummer retail participation program called The Music Edge Fastest Drummer Program in 2004. The store’s winner can advance to compete for over $12,000 in Grand Prizes! Since the program started contestants from all over the USA and abroad have competed in WFD. WFD is also extremely please to announce that ‘the greatest’ cymbal company in the world, ZILDJIAN is a partner with WFD 2007!

NOTE: NAMM is a ‘trade only’ convention and is not open to the general public.*

CONTEST RULES
1. All contestants for both Battle of the Hands ™ and Battle of the Feet ™ competitions will be scored on playing single strokes (no bounces, presses or buzz) for ONE MINUTE and recorded by the Drumometer™.
2. Contestants may run as many times as they like during the Preliminary Heats.
3. Contestants' top Preliminary score will be used toward Finals qualifying.
4. Preliminary scores will NOT be used to determine Grand Prize winners!
5. FINALS scores will be the ONLY scores used to determine GRAND PRIZE winners.
6. NOTE that WFD Champions AND previous GRAND PRIZE winners are ineligible for prizes.
7. Judges decisions are FINAL!

Contestants should sign in at NAMM Fastest Drummer Contest stage area located at the 4th street lobby stage in The Austin Convention Center starting the morning of Friday, July. 27th.
