Search Underway For Michigan's Fastest Drummer

The search is on for the fastest drummer in Upper Michigan. Jim's Music Store in Marquette is holding qualifications for the world's fastest drummer.

Starting Monday and running until Saturday, drummers can compete in the battle of the hands and the feet. Contestants can do unlimited timed runs on a double bass drum with their feet and a snare for their hands. The winner will have the most hits per minute.

Qualifications will also be held at the Escanaba Jim's Music Store the week of May 7 and at Mortel's Sports in Iron Mountain the week of May 14.

Finalists will compete for $1,000 in prizes May 26 and possibly move on to national finals in Austin, Texas this summer.
